You move with WASD or the arrow keys, brace with Shift (tap it as a tag lands to deflect it), boost with Space, and every key can be remapped from the in-match settings panel.

Ability keys

Each ability runs on its own cooldown, shown in the kit HUD at the bottom right. There's no health bar and no separate attack button — every fight in Fakeout is about positioning and momentum, not landing a hit.

Quickchat is two taps on the number row, no typing: tap 1 to 4 to open a group, then 1 to 4 again to pick the line. The defaults are 1 calls (Carrier incoming, They have our flag, I have it, Need backup), 2 roles (On defense, Going for the flag, On my way, Holding here), 3 praise, and 4 gg / glhf / My bad / Thanks. Movement keeps working mid-chord, and you can swap any phrase or bind one to a spare key from the comms panel. Chat is moderated — see the terms for how that works.
How do you remap your keys?
Press Esc in a match and choose Configure keybinds in the pause menu (the same panel lives under your profile's Settings tab). Pick a new key for any action; conflicts with another binding are flagged so you don't accidentally shadow movement. Your bindings are saved to your browser and persist across sessions.
